JAC JS4 2026 — Morocco price

The JAC JS4 is the brand's compact family SUV in Morocco, positioned one size above the JS3 without stepping into pure C-SUV territory (Tucson, RAV4). Facelifted through 2025 for the MENA export market, the model sold at Auto Nejma since late 2025 is the "JS4 II" (second generation, MIS 3.0 platform shared with the new JAC city-car generation). It targets the B+/C- segment (sometimes called "compact SUV" or "crossover") populated by the Hyundai Kona, Kia Sonet (recently imported), Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur and Nissan Juke. Its mission: offer the equipment of a Kona Premium at the price of a Kona Essential.

At 4.41 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.66 m tall on a 2.62 m wheelbase, the JS4 gains 6 cm in length and 6 cm on the wheelbase over the JS3 — a tangible gain in rear-seat space (two 1.85 m adults sit comfortably, which is not the case in a JS3) and in boot volume, rated at 470 L (1,340 L seats folded). The "JS4 II" design pushes the styling slider further: new closed "Stellar Grid" grille, matrix LEDs standard on Prestige, tapered roofline with a gloss-black delta third window, 18" aero-pattern wheels on the top trim. The rear adopts LED lights linked by a full-width light bar.

Inside, the 12.8" landscape central screen (the largest in the Moroccan segment at this price) pairs with a 10.25" digital cluster and a 10" colour head-up display on Prestige. The new JAC iSmart 2.0 infotainment system runs on a Qualcomm 8155 processor (the same as in the current Mercedes C-Class), with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, bilingual voice commands (French, standard Arabic) and OTA updates. Upholstery combines synthetic leather and micro-suede on Comfort, perforated napa leather on Prestige. Cabin ambience objectively outclasses a Kona or 2008 — a level that at equal spec rivals the Volkswagen T-Roc at 380,000 MAD.

On powertrain, the JS4 is fitted with the second-generation 1.5 T-GDI "Kylin" — an evolution of the JS3 block with high-pressure direct injection, variable valve timing and integrated intercooler — producing 150 hp and 230 Nm, exclusively paired to a CVT with 9 simulated ratios. Front-wheel drive only. Homologated WLTP combined consumption is 6.7 L / 100 km. Note: a PHEV (plug-in hybrid) version 1.5 T-GDI + 130 hp electric with 90 km WLTP electric range is announced in China and could reach Morocco in 2027 according to Auto Nejma — not marketed to date, to watch.

The 2026 MA range spans two trims. Comfort (229,900 MAD) already integrates dual-zone auto A/C, 12.8" screen, 10.25" digital cluster, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, 17" alloys, 6 airbags, 360° camera, front/rear sensors and the full JAC Sense pack (autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert). Prestige (289,900 MAD) adds panoramic sunroof, napa leather upholstery, 8-way electric heated/ventilated front seats with driver memory, matrix LEDs, 10" head-up display, 18" aero wheels, 8-speaker premium sound with subwoofer, and the full level-2 ADAS pack (adaptive cruise with stop&go, lane-centring assist, assisted lane change).

Against that, the Hyundai Kona 1.6 T-GDI starts at 265,000 MAD (Pulse) and rises to 335,000 MAD in Premium — to compare with a much more heavily equipped JS4 Prestige at 289,900 MAD. The Peugeot 2008 PureTech 130 starts at 249,000 MAD (Active) and peaks at 319,000 MAD (GT). The Renault Captur TCe 140 sits between 245,000 and 305,000 MAD. On pure equipment-to-price ratio, the JS4 Prestige at 289,900 MAD has no equivalent — you need to move up to the VW T-Roc R-Line (from 380,000 MAD) to find a comparable finish level. The same reservations as for the JS3 apply: heavier depreciation (25-30% in year one), short local reliability track record, and 3-year resale value estimated at 55-60% vs 65% for a Kona.

Our verdict: the JS4 Comfort at 229,900 MAD is the best-equipped compact SUV in the Moroccan market under 250,000 MAD. The Prestige at 289,900 MAD delivers a level of finish and ADAS that few mainstream brands reach before 350,000 MAD. Seriously worth considering for urban-suburban family use, in full awareness of the faster resale depreciation.
