Online carte grise tracking in Morocco — 2026 procedure
How to track the progress of a carte grise application (transfer, renewal, duplicate) on tasshilat.ma. Steps, typical timing, and the meaning of status codes.
The essentials in 30 seconds
Every carte grise application filed on tasshilat.ma receives a 12-digit tracking number sent by email. That number, paired with your CIN, lets you check the file status 24/7 without an account.
Standard timing is 24 to 72 hours for a simple transfer, 5 to 15 days for a renewal or duplicate. Beyond that, a stuck status ("awaiting completion" or "rejected") signals a missing or unreadable document — the system says exactly which one.

Documents needed
- 12-digit tracking number received by email at submission.
- CIN (national ID) of the applicant — used as second authentication factor.
Procedure steps
-
Locate your tracking number
The tracking number (12 digits) appears on the confirmation email received at submission, in the "File reference" section. If you can't find the email, search "tasshilat.ma" in your inbox or spam. If lost permanently, retrieve it by logging into your tasshilat.ma account → "My applications".
-
Connect to the portal
Go to tasshilat.ma. Click "Application tracking" in the top-right. You can check without an account (entering tracking number + CIN) or sign in with your tasshilat.ma account — the connected version shows full history of your applications plus the current file.
-
Enter the number and CIN
Enter the 12-digit tracking number and your CIN as it appears on your ID (no spaces). Validate. The system displays the file's detailed status within seconds, the timestamp of every step, and — if applicable — the precise list of documents to complete.
-
Interpret the status
5 main statuses: "Filed" (file received, in queue), "Under review" (an agent is processing), "Awaiting completion" (a document is missing or unreadable — details given), "Validated" (transfer/renewal effective; PDF arrives by email), "Rejected" (detailed reason, possibility to refile).
-
Download or collect
Once "Validated" appears, two things happen in parallel: the carte grise PDF is sent by email (legally enforceable, usable immediately), and the plastic version goes out by registered mail within 7-15 days. Tracking also gives you the Barid Al-Maghrib mail tracking number.
Don't forget
- Don't create a new application if the old one is in progress. In case of apparent delay (>72 h with no change), check the tracking first: "Awaiting completion" status simply indicates a missing document, not a lost application.
- Check your spam folder regularly — tasshilat.ma emails are sometimes mis-classified by Gmail/Outlook. No notification doesn't mean no progress.
- Keep the tracking number for at least 6 months after receiving the carte grise. It serves as proof in case of dispute (lost mail, contestation of effective date, NARSA appeal).
