  • HEV full-hybrid version at 5.4 L / 100 km, very rare in B-SUV

  • Rear-seat space above Kona and 2008

Watch out for

  • 7DCT gearbox occasionally jerky at low speed on the petrol version

Our verdict

The Haval Jolion is the entry point of the Haval brand in Morocco and its expected volume model. Positioned in the B-SUV segment — that of the Toyota Yaris Cross, Hyundai Kona, Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur and Nissan Juke — the Jolion bets on an urban format (4.47 m long, 1.84 m wide, 1.62 m tall) that stays comfortable in medina alleys and Casablanca car parks while offering rear-cabin space well above a Kona or 2008.

Launched globally in 2021 and facelifted in late 2024 ("New Jolion"), the generation SODICOM currently sells in Morocco arrives with a redrawn stylistic signature: new full-width honeycomb grille, LED matrix headlights with L-shaped signature, tail lamps linked by a light bar. The interior is the real coup: two 12.3" screens (digital cluster + central infotainment running Coffee Intelligence 2.0, Haval's own interface), premium leather-look synthetic upholstery on higher trims, dual-zone automatic A/C from entry trim, and a material level (foamed dash surfaces, padded door cards) that clearly rivals a Peugeot 2008 GT costing 60,000 MAD more.

Two powertrains offered in Morocco for 2026, both automatic-only (no manual gearbox in the SODICOM catalog). The 1.5 T-GDi petrol delivers 150 hp and 230 Nm, paired with a 7DCT wet dual-clutch gearbox. A good power/economy compromise: 7.4 L / 100 km WLTP, expect 8-9 L / 100 km in Moroccan urban use with the A/C running near-continuously. The HEV version (full self-charging hybrid) combines the same 1.5 turbo block with an electric motor and a small 1.6 kWh battery for 190 combined hp and an official 5.4 L / 100 km — one of the lowest in the B-SUV segment. Unlike a Peugeot 2008 or Nissan Juke, which only exist in 48 V mild-hybrid form, the Jolion HEV is a full-hybrid comparable to the Yaris Cross or Kona HEV. Transmission is a smooth planetary-gear e-CVT, and thermal / electric switching is well managed at low speed.

On equipment, SODICOM structures the range into two to three trims depending on availability. The entry trim (~249,000 MAD, 1.5T Comfort) already offers the dual 12.3" screens, dual-zone auto A/C, 17" alloys, six airbags, reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, adaptive cruise, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane departure warning. The Elite trim (~285,000 MAD) adds premium synthetic upholstery, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, electric tailgate, 360° camera, automatic parking aid and blind-spot alert. The HEV version (~329,000 MAD) picks up the Elite equipment and adds the hybrid powertrain. At comparable Elite spec, a Hyundai Kona Executive is billed around 340,000 MAD (60,000 MAD more), and a Toyota Yaris Cross Collection Hybrid tops 360,000 MAD.

In its Moroccan segment, the Jolion therefore faces the Yaris Cross (299,000

  • 379,000 MAD), Hyundai Kona (275,000
  • 345,000 MAD), Peugeot 2008 (259,000
  • 349,000 MAD), Renault Captur (245,000
  • 315,000 MAD) and Nissan Juke (259,000
  • 319,000 MAD). Its argument rests on three axes: price at comparable spec (unbeatable in Comfort and Elite), the 7-year / 150,000 km SODICOM warranty (vs 3 years for Peugeot / Renault, 5 for Hyundai, 5 + 5 conditional for Toyota), and the modernity of the 12.3" central screen that crushes European 7"-to-10" units. The real weaknesses remain the still-growing after-sales network (10 to 15 points vs 30+ for Hyundai or Renault), and especially used-market residuals: a 3-year-old Jolion will typically lose 40 to 45 % of its new value, vs 30 to 35 % for a Kona or Yaris Cross — a real hidden cost for buyers who plan to resell at mid-term.

Our verdict: the 2026 Jolion is the rational buy in Morocco's B-SUV segment for buyers who keep their car 6 to 8 years, drive mostly urban / mixed, and value onboard equipment (large screens, full ADAS, premium upholstery) over residual value. The HEV version at ~329,000 MAD is particularly compelling: under 5.5 L / 100 km in real Casablanca or Rabat use, a smooth automatic, and a price delta vs the Yaris Cross Hybrid Collection that reaches 30,000 MAD. For buyers planning to resell at 3 years, on the other hand, a used Kona or Yaris Cross will remain a more economical choice on total cost of ownership.

What's your used Haval Jolion worth?

Median and indicative range by year and mileage. Open methodology, refreshed continuously.

How we calculate

The most accurate used-car estimator in Morocco. Every estimate blends three signals: (1) official new-car prices published by Moroccan importers (source: our verified model fiches), (2) real listings posted by actual private and professional sellers across the main Moroccan used-car marketplaces for the same brand + model + year (±2 years), and (3) brand-specific depreciation curves calibrated on the Moroccan market (Toyota, Renault and Dacia hold value better; German premium drops faster after year 4; Chinese newcomers depreciate faster). We also apply a −5 to −10 % adjustment to convert asking-price into real transaction price (typical Moroccan negotiation margin). The calculation is regenerated on every new observation; models with at least 3 recent listings are flagged "Observed data" in the result. The (model, year, mileage) cache is refreshed every 30 days or when the new-car price shifts by more than 5 %.
