The Haval H6 is the brand's flagship SUV and one of the best-selling mid-size SUVs in the world — more than 400,000 units sold each year, mainly in China, Australia, Thailand, South Africa and now Morocco. Distributed by SODICOM (CFAO Motors), it is the centrepiece of Haval's strategy in the kingdom: directly attack the Tucson / Sportage / Tiguan trio that dominates the C-SUV segment, by breaking prices at superior equipment.

The third generation, launched globally in 2021 and facelifted in 2024, is built on Great Wall Motors' L.E.M.O.N. platform — a modular architecture designed from the start to accommodate combustion, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. External dimensions (4.65 m long, 1.89 m wide, 1.73 m tall, 2.73 m wheelbase) place it at the heart of the C-SUV segment, with a more generous wheelbase than the Tucson (2.68 m) or Sportage (2.68 m) — a direct benefit to rear-seat passengers. The boot is quoted at 600 L (1,485 L seats folded) — close to the Tucson (620 L) and above the Peugeot 3008 (520 L).

Design inspired by premium European SUVs: full-width diamond-pattern grille, sculpted bonnet with twin ridges, slim LED headlights, optional flush door handles, 18-to-19" wheels, rear signature with full-width light bar and sequential indicators. Inside, Haval has pushed the experience a notch further than the Jolion: 12.3" digital cluster + 14.6" (or 12.3" depending on trim) central screen running Coffee Intelligence 2.0, compact electronic tablet-style gear selector, foamed materials throughout, premium nappa-look synthetic upholstery on Elite trims, 8-speaker audio, multi-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof standard on Elite.

Two powertrains in the Moroccan 2026 catalog, with a third HEV option available in 2026. The entry powertrain is the 1.5 T-GDi petrol of 170 hp and 285 Nm, paired with a 7DCT wet dual-clutch gearbox and front-wheel drive (no AWD offered in Morocco for now). Combined WLTP consumption: 7.6 L / 100 km. The HEV version combines the same 1.5 T-GDi with an electric motor fed by a 1.7 kWh battery for 243 combined hp and 300 Nm of instant electric torque — one of the highest torque figures in the C-SUV hybrid segment. Official consumption: 5.2 L / 100 km — better than the Tucson HEV (5.8 L) and the RAV4 hybrid (5.7 L). Planetary-gear e-CVT-type box (Haval's DHT dedicated hybrid transmission), very smooth in urban use. A PHEV with 100 km of electric range is also available in some European markets but is not confirmed in the 2026 SODICOM catalog.

H6 1.5T Comfort (299,000 MAD) includes strong standard equipment: 12.3" digital cluster, 12.3" central screen, dual-zone auto A/C, fabric / synthetic upholstery, 18" alloys, 7 airbags, reversing camera, emergency braking, adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, passive blind-spot alert. H6 1.5T Elite (349,000 MAD) adds premium nappa-look synthetic upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, keyless entry and start, hands-free electric tailgate, 360° camera, automatic parking aid, 14.6" central screen, panoramic roof, and the extended ADAS pack (active blind-spot alert with braking, rear cross-traffic alert). H6 HEV Elite (419,000 MAD) picks up the Elite equipment and adds the 243 hp hybrid drivetrain.

The H6's strongest argument is arithmetic: H6 1.5T Comfort at 299,000 MAD offers a 12.3" central screen, a digital cluster, a reversing camera, adaptive cruise, dual-zone A/C and 7 airbags — the Tucson Pulse (359,000 MAD, +60,000 MAD) offers roughly the same spec. H6 HEV Elite at 419,000 MAD takes on a Tiguan eHybrid at 500,000+ MAD or a Tucson Premium HEV at 459,000 MAD — up to 80,000 MAD gap at comparable equipment. The weak points are known: used-market value (35-40 % depreciation at 3 years, vs 30-35 % for a Tucson), a long-term reliability record still short in Europe and Morocco (the first Moroccan H6 units are less than three years old), and a SODICOM network still limited against the 30+ points of GBH Motors or Renault Maroc.

Our verdict: the 2026 Haval H6 is the C-SUV with the best equipment-to-price ratio in the Moroccan market, no exception. The HEV proposition at 419,000 MAD — 243 hp, 5.2 L / 100 km real-world, 14.6" screen, panoramic roof, 360° camera, 7-year warranty — crushes all its European and Japanese rivals on spec per MAD. The trade-off to accept is twofold: lower residual value and an after-sales network still growing. If you keep your car 5 to 8 years and the SODICOM footprint covers your city, there is no objective argument against the H6 versus a comparably-equipped Tucson. If you plan to resell at 3 years, a Tucson HEV Premium remains, in total cost, still more competitive.
