Our methodology for BMW
For every BMW model, we start from the official new price published by the Moroccan importer, then apply a depreciation curve calibrated against the European and Moroccan markets — 80% at 1 year, 70% at 2 years, 62% at 3 years, down to 22% at 10 years. The result is then adjusted by declared mileage (progressive penalty per 10,000 km band).
We show the median (price expected on a standard-condition vehicle) and the p25–p75 range: p25 = what a buyer would pay on a high-mileage or average-condition vehicle, p75 = what we see on first-owner vehicles with a complete service history. You get an honest range, not a single number you could overpay or undersell on.
BMW on the Moroccan used-car market
BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke, founded in Munich in 1916) is Morocco's second premium maker after Mercedes, with around 25-28% of the luxury market. The brand is distributed by Smeia — BMW Maroc (a subsidiary of the Bensalem group), operating 7 main dealerships (Casablanca Sidi Maârouf and Aïn Sebaâ, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, Fes) plus the BMW Motorrad division. Smeia is one of the Kingdom's oldest automotive distributors (1953). In Morocco, the BMW lineup spans five families: compacts (1 Series, 2 Series Active Tourer), sedans (3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series), X-line SUVs (X1, X3, X5, X7), electrics (i4, iX, iX1), and M performance (M3, M4, X3 M, X5 M Competition). The 3 Series remains BMW MA's historical best-seller, followed by the X3. BMW positions itself as the reference for driving enthusiasts (rear-wheel drive on 3/5/7 Series, M Power), while Mercedes dominates executive comfort. BMW resale is strong (~58-62% at 3 years, equivalent to Mercedes), sustained by steady local demand for used models.
