An Italian-Inspired Premium Crossover

Lancia unveils the new Gamma, a compact-premium crossover SUV that marks the brand's return to the segment with a distinctly Italian approach. Designed and developed in Italy, the Gamma is built on the STLA Medium platform and assembled at Stellantis' modernized Melfi plant.

With dimensions of 4.67 meters long, 1.89 meters wide, and 1.66 meters tall, the Gamma positions itself squarely in the premium compact crossover category. Its fastback design delivers dynamic styling with a tapered rear, blending contemporary aesthetics with recognizable brand heritage.

Four Powertrain Options for Every Driver

Lancia's powertrain lineup caters to diverse buyer preferences seeking versatility:

  • Hybrid 145 hp: Range exceeding 1,000 km
  • Electric 230 hp: Over 540 km of range
  • Electric 245 hp: Over 740 km of range
  • Electric AWD 375 hp: All-wheel drive, up to 675 km of range

The electric AWD variant delivers 50 additional horsepower compared to the Peugeot e-3008, matching the power output of the DS N°7, Stellantis' other premium brand in the segment.

Melfi: The Production Heart

Italian manufacturing is presented as a cornerstone of the Lancia project. The Melfi plant, modernized in recent years, produces multiple STLA Medium-based models within the Stellantis portfolio, including the fourth-generation Peugeot 3008, which shares the Gamma's technical foundation.

While developed on a shared architecture, the Gamma achieves meaningful differentiation: a glass profile echoing the 3008, but notably drawing inspiration from the DS N°7 with hidden rear door handles. The interior largely mirrors the DS N°7 structure, with revised door panels and center console, though the dashboard remains largely consistent across the platform.

Orders and Details Coming This Summer

Prototypes are currently undergoing road testing. Order books open after summer 2024, with Lancia committing to release pricing, equipment details, and availability information in the coming months.

The Gamma represents Stellantis' premium strategy push in Morocco, offering an Italian alternative to the French DS N°7, with electric and hybrid powertrains tailored for local driving patterns and climate conditions.
