Maextro V800 electric luxury minivan, Chinese premium vehicle

A new contender in the premium segment

Maextro, the joint venture between Chinese automaker JAC and tech giant Huawei, has unveiled its second model: the V800. Following the runaway success of the S800 sedan in 2025—which became China's best-selling luxury car—the brand is rolling out an imposing minivan designed to shake up the global premium vehicle landscape.

Massive proportions

This isn't an SUV, but a full-size luxury MPV—a segment highly prized on China's high-end market. The V800's dimensions are striking:

  • Length: 5,495 mm
  • Width: 2,006 mm
  • Wheelbase: 3,430 mm
  • Curb weight: 3,190 kg

Ministry homologation confirms it ranks among the largest vehicles on the Chinese market.

Extended-range electric powertrain

The V800 adopts an electric architecture with a gas-powered range extender. Two electric motors—160 kW for the front axle and 230 kW for the rear—deliver propulsion, while a modest 1.5L petrol engine (127 kW) serves solely to charge the 65 kWh battery.

Advertised ranges:

  • 280 km on CLTC cycle (Chinese standard)
  • 200 km on WLTP cycle (real-world equivalent)

A pure-electric variant is planned for the near future.

Luxury befitting the world's finest

While interior photos remain unreleased, the V800 will offer 6- and 4-seat configurations with premium comfort seating, banks of touchscreens, ambient lighting, integrated minibar, and tablets. Huawei's fingerprints are evident throughout: advanced autonomous driving, intelligent lighting systems, immersive infotainment, and cutting-edge connectivity.

A real threat to Mercedes, Bentley, and Rolls-Royce

The S800 already rattled European carmakers by claiming China's luxury-sedan crown. Now Maextro eyes an even less contested space: the ultra-premium MPV sector. While Mercedes readies the VLE and VLS to replace its V-Class—with a Maybach flagship—Maextro has first-mover advantage.

This vehicle signals the rise of Chinese premium brands, backed by world-class technology and price-competitive positioning against European rivals.
