Lancia Gamma family crossover with clean lighting signature and premium design language

Lancia continues its comeback with the Gamma, a family crossover arriving after the Ypsilon city car launched in early 2024. This new model sets clear ambitions: reclaiming the premium European market with a diverse electric and hybrid lineup.

Design: Italian elegance meets SUV practicality

Visually, the Gamma inherits the Ypsilon's refined design language, featuring a sophisticated front end and distinctive lighting signature. Its profile showcases carefully sculpted windows and concealed rear door handles for a clean aesthetic. The rear is distinctly SUV-inspired, with an abrupt roofline cut and a generous tailgate reminiscent of the Peugeot 3008.

At 4.67 meters long, the Gamma sits between the 3008 (4.54 m) and DS N°8 (4.82 m), embodying the crossover segment that remains popular across Moroccan dealerships.

Powertrains: Electric and hybrid options

Two electric variants are planned:

  • 230 hp version with 540 km range
  • 245 hp delivering up to 740 km range
  • All-wheel-drive 375 hp variant with 675 km range

Batteries are expected to mirror Stellantis group standards: 73 and 97 kWh capacities.

On the petrol side, only a 145 hp hybrid engine is available. No conventional petrol-only version is offered.

Interior and trims

Lancia promises a carefully crafted dashboard with perceived quality matching its premium positioning. However, trim levels, detailed equipment lists, and pricing remain unannounced. Production will take place in Italy at the Melfi facility.

Launch timeline

Order books are expected to open in autumn. Moroccan buyers will discover this model according to Lancia's distribution strategy in North Africa.

A positioning that needs clarification

Theoretically, the Gamma should revive Lancia's premium credentials. Yet a recent Stellantis announcement transforms the brand into a "regional" entity under Fiat's umbrella. This shift raises questions about the model's final positioning and commercial coherence in the market.
