The Kia Picanto is, in the A-segment (small city cars), one of the last offers still on the Moroccan market — most manufacturers have abandoned the segment in favour of the more profitable B-segment (Clio, 208, Sandero). Distributed by GBH Motors, it starts at 139,000 MAD for the LX 1.0 manual and rises to 169,000 MAD for the GT-Line 1.0 AT.
The 2024-facelifted fourth generation (JA, 2017+ with second facelift) offers a 1.0 naturally-aspirated petrol with 67 hp, in 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic (older-generation gearbox). WLTP consumption is 5.6 L / 100 km — expect 6.5 L / 100 km in real-world Moroccan use. 255 L boot, 3.60 m long — perfect for the alleyways of Casablanca, Tangier or the Marrakech medina.
The decisive argument: the 7-year / 150,000 km warranty, unique in the A-segment. The Hyundai i10 (technical sister) tops out at 5 years. The Picanto is also one of the few cars under 170,000 MAD with an automatic gearbox, making it a favourite for urban buyers who don't want to clutch through Casablanca traffic jams.
