Our verdict

The 3rd-generation Honda HR-V (codenamed RV, launched globally in late 2021, arrived in Morocco in 2022) marks a turning point for the Japanese brand on the highly competitive B-SUV segment. Where the first two generations (1999-2013, then 2015-2021) leaned on curved lines and a clever cabin — the famous Magic Seats — the 3rd generation finally embraces a real SUV design: horizontal hood, body-coloured full-face grille (a recent Honda signature), fastback rear, marked wheel arches, 196 mm ground clearance. Length reaches 4.34 m on a 2.61 m wheelbase, a size very close to a Toyota Yaris Cross or Hyundai Kona.

The cabin remains the HR-V's historical asset, with the famous Magic Seats (rear bench with cushions that fold up vertically, on the principle of a cinema tip-up seat) that let you load a bicycle standing upright or a washing machine without removing the bench. The boot claims 335 L in normal configuration, average for the segment — the extra space went into rear-seat habitability, better than average. The dashboard is heavily inspired by the 11th-gen Civic: full-width honeycomb ventilation band, 9" screen in raised central position, compact gear selector, high-grade materials — Honda clearly plays the perceived-quality card against rivals that are more basic (Duster, Sandero Stepway) but less convincing (1st-gen Kona).

Two powertrains in the 2026 Moroccan catalog. The 1.5 i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol delivers 121 hp (the same engine as in the City), paired with a CVT, with WLTP consumption of 6.3 L / 100 km. That's the accessible choice. The flagship powertrain is the e:HEV, Honda's series-parallel hybrid system: a 1.5 L Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with two electric motors, for 131 combined hp and 253 Nm of electric torque. Here, as on the Civic or CR-V, the combustion engine works primarily as a generator, propulsion being 100% assured by the traction electric motor in most urban situations. WLTP consumption: 5.4 L / 100 km, with expected real-world consumption around 5.5-6.0 L / 100 km in Casablanca or Rabat — an exceptional figure for a petrol SUV.

Honda chose, on the HR-V e:HEV, not to offer all-wheel drive — front-wheel drive is the only configuration available. This is consistent with the target use (urban, suburban) but may disappoint against a Toyota Yaris Cross AWD-i, which offers AWD with an independent rear electric motor.

The range comprises three trims at Honda Maroc. Comfort 1.5 VTEC (329,000 MAD) includes automatic A/C, the 9" screen with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, 17" alloys, LED headlamps, reversing camera, cruise control, and the full Honda Sensing suite (autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, blind-spot alert). Executive e:HEV (379,000 MAD) adds the hybrid powertrain, mixed upholstery, heated front seats, the 10.2" digital cluster, keyless entry and start, electric tailgate and 18" alloys. Advance e:HEV (409,000 MAD) adds full leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, 360° camera, automatic parking assist and a premium 8-speaker audio system.

On the Moroccan market, the HR-V mainly faces the Toyota Yaris Cross (289,000

  • 379,000 MAD, 116 hp hybrid, AWD available), Hyundai Kona (299,000
  • 419,000 MAD, petrol or 141 hp hybrid), Kia XCeed (light crossover, 319,000
  • 399,000 MAD), and marginally the Nissan Juke (309,000
  • 389,000 MAD). Its e:HEV proposition is objectively superior on consumption (5.4 L / 100 km vs 5.7 for the Yaris Cross vs 6.2 for the Kona Hybrid) and on electric power under acceleration. The Yaris Cross claws back the advantage on hybrid entry price (at equivalent standard equipment) and on AWD availability.

Our verdict: the 2026 HR-V e:HEV is the technical benchmark of the hybrid B-SUV segment in Morocco — the most accomplished, the most economical, and the best-finished. Its commercial weakness remains, as with all Hondas, the reputation gap: Toyota sells 5 to 8 times more Yaris Cross than Honda sells hybrid HR-V. For a pragmatic buyer — priority on running cost, finish quality, and willing to make a reasonable trip for Honda service — it's the rational choice. The real handicap in 2026 remains the price: at 379,000 MAD, the Executive e:HEV finds itself facing the Hyundai Tucson Pulse (359,000 MAD, 180 hp petrol, a segment above in habitability). To stay on pure hybrid B-SUV, the HR-V keeps the best technical case — but the buyer needs to be convinced to stay on this compact urban format.

What's your used Honda HR-V worth?

Median and indicative range by year and mileage. Open methodology, refreshed continuously.

How we calculate

The most accurate used-car estimator in Morocco. Every estimate blends three signals: (1) official new-car prices published by Moroccan importers (source: our verified model fiches), (2) real listings posted by actual private and professional sellers across the main Moroccan used-car marketplaces for the same brand + model + year (±2 years), and (3) brand-specific depreciation curves calibrated on the Moroccan market (Toyota, Renault and Dacia hold value better; German premium drops faster after year 4; Chinese newcomers depreciate faster). We also apply a −5 to −10 % adjustment to convert asking-price into real transaction price (typical Moroccan negotiation margin). The calculation is regenerated on every new observation; models with at least 3 recent listings are flagged "Observed data" in the result. The (model, year, mileage) cache is refreshed every 30 days or when the new-car price shifts by more than 5 %.
