- Honda Sensing (full ADAS suite) standard from entry level
- Build quality and chassis rigidity above mainstream rivals
- Rear seat space and boot (410 L) above segment average

Our verdict
The 11th-generation Honda Civic is the brand's iconic compact sedan, marketed in Morocco by Honda Maroc (Optorg Group) since late 2022. After three generations of tortured bodywork (the famously "aggressive" 2016-2021 Civics), Honda made the brave choice to return to sobriety: a horizontal hood line, marked shoulders, fastback rear, near-total absence of ornamentation. The result is a discreet, almost anonymous sedan at first glance — but with build quality that shows in the detail: millimetre-accurate door fits, largely foamed dashboard materials, a full-width honeycomb ventilation grille that has become an iconic signature detail.
The Moroccan market receives the Civic exclusively as a four-door sedan (the hatchback version, available in Europe, is not imported). External dimensions reach 4.68 m long on a 2.74 m wheelbase — a shade longer than a Toyota Corolla Sedan (4.63 m) and slightly shorter than a Peugeot 508 (4.75 m). Rear-seat habitability is a highlight: two 1.85 m adults sit comfortably, and the boot claims 410 L, upper-mid of the segment. The loading sill remains fairly high, an unavoidable consequence of the fastback line.
Two powertrains in the Moroccan 2026 catalog, both with CVT automatic transmission. The 1.5 VTEC Turbo petrol delivers 182 hp and 240 Nm, with a claimed WLTP consumption of 6.4 L / 100 km — expect 7-8 L / 100 km in real Casablanca use. It is an excellent engine, flexible, torquey, but the CVT gearbox remains polarising: very smooth on the motorway, it produces the characteristic "rubber band" effect under hard acceleration that some will prefer less than the VW Group's DCT or the Corolla's Aisin 8-speed automatic. The flagship is the e:HEV, Honda's full-parallel hybrid system: an Atkinson-cycle 2.0 L petrol engine paired with two electric motors (one generator, one traction), for 184 combined hp and 315 Nm of instant electric torque. WLTP consumption: 4.8 L / 100 km, with pure electric operation possible up to 70 km/h in town — expect 5.0-5.5 L / 100 km in real Moroccan use.
Note that the e:HEV is neither a mild hybrid nor a PHEV: it is a system Honda calls "series-parallel", where the combustion engine acts mostly as a generator in town and only engages direct drive at sustained highway speeds. In practice, the Civic e:HEV drives like an EV in urban cycle — silence, instant response, linear acceleration — while avoiding range anxiety. This architecture is identical to that of the hybrid CR-V and Accord.
The 2026 Civic range comprises three main trims at Honda Maroc. Elegance 1.5 VTEC Turbo (339,000 MAD) includes the 9" Honda Connect screen with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, dual-zone automatic A/C, 17" alloys, LED headlamps, reversing camera, adaptive cruise, autonomous emergency braking and blind-spot alert — the Honda Sensing suite is standard from entry level, a real advantage over a Corolla Active that starts without radar. Executive 1.5 VTEC Turbo (379,000 MAD) adds leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, the 10.2" digital cluster, keyless entry and start, hands-free tailgate, and 18" alloys. Sport e:HEV (419,000 MAD) carries the Executive equipment and adds the hybrid powertrain, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and contrasting trim highlights.
On the Moroccan market, the Civic mainly faces the Toyota Corolla Sedan (299,000
- 379,000 MAD, positioned one step below in standard equipment), the Peugeot 508 (from 399,000 MAD, a segment above), and marginally the Kia K5 (349,000
- 429,000 MAD, heavier and more showy). The Civic e:HEV has in fact no direct equivalent in Morocco at this price: the Corolla Hybrid Sedan starts at 359,000 MAD but with only 122 combined hp (vs 184 for the e:HEV), and the Peugeot 508 Hybrid is listed above 500,000 MAD. The main commercial obstacle is the absence of a diesel engine (unlike the Corolla, still available in 1.8 D-4D at SIAB Toyota) and the announced service cost at Honda, sitting 15-20% above Toyota Maroc for equivalent mileage.
Our verdict: the 2026 Civic is a compact sedan of very high intrinsic level — rigorous chassis, precise steering, better perceived quality than its mainstream rivals — that Honda Maroc struggles to make known outside a customer base of enthusiasts. For a buyer who prioritises driving pleasure and perceived quality, it is objectively above the Corolla. For a buyer who prioritises resale value and service network density, the Corolla keeps the edge (Toyota Maroc = ~40 dealers, Honda Maroc = 14). The e:HEV, at 4.8 L / 100 km real-world and with an 8-year battery warranty, remains one of the best hybrids on the market across all brands — to seriously consider against any diesel sedan in the segment.

How we calculate
The most accurate used-car estimator in Morocco. Every estimate blends three signals: (1) official new-car prices published by Moroccan importers (source: our verified model fiches), (2) real listings posted by actual private and professional sellers across the main Moroccan used-car marketplaces for the same brand + model + year (±2 years), and (3) brand-specific depreciation curves calibrated on the Moroccan market (Toyota, Renault and Dacia hold value better; German premium drops faster after year 4; Chinese newcomers depreciate faster). We also apply a −5 to −10 % adjustment to convert asking-price into real transaction price (typical Moroccan negotiation margin). The calculation is regenerated on every new observation; models with at least 3 recent listings are flagged "Observed data" in the result. The (model, year, mileage) cache is refreshed every 30 days or when the new-car price shifts by more than 5 %.
