Pros

  • Full APRC electronics pack (6-axis IMU, cornering ABS, ATC, AWC) — unmatched in the bracket
  • 100 hp / 183 kg dry — best power-to-weight in the sport middleweight segment
  • Brembo M4.32 radial brakes + Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres — Panigale V2 spec
  • Authentic and differentiating Aprilia racing heritage (54 GP titles, RSV4 WSBK champion)
  • A2-restrictable option for fresh A2 licence (official Aprilia kit)

Watch out for

  • Piaggio Maroc network limited to 3 dealers (Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech)
  • 100% sport ergonomics — uncomfortable for long urban commutes
  • Italian servicing more expensive than a Japanese equivalent (valve clearances every 20,000 km)
  • Aprilia MA resale value to be confirmed — market too small for a reliable benchmark

Our verdict

The Aprilia RS 660 2026 is the Italian middleweight supersport — Aprilia's most important commercial bet in ten years, an entirely new platform unveiled in 2020 to reposition the brand outside the RSV4 vs Panigale duel in the 200-300 hp brackets, and to plant it in the most dynamic market box of the moment: accessible sport middleweight. The engine is a purpose-built 659cc parallel twin (not a single, not an RSV4-V4 derivative), 270°-timed for a V-twin-like character, with 100 hp at 10,500 rpm and 67 Nm at 8,500 rpm — more powerful than the Yamaha R7 (73 hp) and Kawasaki Ninja 650 (68 hp) that dominate the Moroccan volume segment, and barely below the Honda CBR650R (95 hp, 4-cyl). 6-speed manual gearbox, slipper clutch standard, bidirectional AQS quickshifter optional (+3,500 MAD).

Where the RS 660 opens a gap is on electronics — the full APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) pack as standard equipment: 6-axis IMU, 3-level ATC traction control, 3-level AWC wheelie control, multi-map Cornering ABS (partially defeatable for track use), five riding modes (Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge, Time Attack), electronic cruise control. That's an RSV4-derived pack the Japanese competition simply doesn't offer in the bracket: neither the R7, the Ninja 650, nor even the CBR650R has a 6-axis IMU or cornering ABS. Aluminium frame (twin beam + engine-cradle carrier), Kayaba 41 mm USD fork adjustable in preload and rebound, adjustable mono-shock, Brembo M4.32 radial calipers + dual 320 mm discs, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II rubber in 120/70 R17 front and 180/55 R17 rear — spec-equivalent to a Panigale V2 on wheels and brakes.

At 119,900 MAD (129,900 MAD in the Factory pack with quickshifter, engine guard, Aprilia Black paint), the RS 660 sits above the Yamaha R7 (89,000 MAD at Premium Motors, 689cc CP2 twin 73 hp, virtually no electronics), above the Kawasaki Ninja 650 (85,000 MAD at Sanam Moto, 649cc twin 68 hp, basic two-channel ABS), and just above the Honda CBR650R (109,900 MAD, 4-cyl 95 hp, one notch more civilised but less electronically equipped). Against the Ducati Panigale V2 (289,000 MAD at Sopriam, 955cc V-twin 155 hp), it's 170k MAD cheaper but plays one class down in displacement and power. Clear positioning: the most electronically equipped middleweight supersport on the Moroccan market, a true track bike homologated for the road, for an enthusiast who wants racing tech and accepts paying an Italian premium vs Japanese equivalents.

100% sport ergonomics, unashamedly: 820 mm seat, forward stance on rearset pegs, low clip-on bars — it's a bike that expresses its potential on winding roads and on track, less pleasant on long urban commutes. 15-litre tank and moderate consumption (~4.9 L/100 km on open road) give around 300 km range, decent for the segment. A2 restriction available on order via Piaggio Maroc (official Aprilia kit that caps at 47.5 kW / 35 kW to respect the legal limit), specify it at ordering time because it's not systematically in stock — 4-6 week lead time. Verdict: the RS 660 is the most technically accomplished bike in its price bracket in Morocco, but it demands an informed buyer — the Aprilia price is paid on servicing (timing belts, valve-clearance checks) and on parts availability (Piaggio Maroc stocks Casablanca as priority). For an occasional track rider (Marrakech, Kenitra) who wants the best middleweight on the market, it's a no-brainer. For 90% urban / open-road use, the Tuono 660 derivative is a more rational choice.

Morocco price benchmark

What's your used Aprilia RS 660 worth?

Median and indicative range by year and mileage. Open methodology, refreshed continuously.

How we calculate

The most accurate used-car estimator in Morocco. Every estimate blends three signals: (1) official new-car prices published by Moroccan importers (source: our verified model fiches), (2) real listings posted by actual private and professional sellers across the main Moroccan used-car marketplaces for the same brand + model + year (±2 years), and (3) brand-specific depreciation curves calibrated on the Moroccan market (Toyota, Renault and Dacia hold value better; German premium drops faster after year 4; Chinese newcomers depreciate faster). We also apply a −5 to −10 % adjustment to convert asking-price into real transaction price (typical Moroccan negotiation margin). The calculation is regenerated on every new observation; models with at least 3 recent listings are flagged "Observed data" in the result. The (model, year, mileage) cache is refreshed every 30 days or when the new-car price shifts by more than 5 %.

Frequently asked

Is the RS 660 eligible for an A2 licence?
Yes, with the official Aprilia restriction kit available on order at Piaggio Maroc. The kit caps power at 47.5 kW (~64 hp) to respect the A2 legal limit in force in Morocco. Allow 4-6 weeks lead time (not systematically in stock) and an extra 2,500-3,500 MAD depending on availability. The kit is reversible: on passing the A licence (two years after A2), the dealer can unrestrict the bike to recover the original 100 hp, subject to updating the registration certificate.
RS 660 or Yamaha R7 — which to pick in Morocco?
Technology vs simplicity choice. The Yamaha R7 (89,000 MAD at Premium Motors, 689cc CP2 twin 73 hp, 188 kg dry) is 30,000 MAD cheaper but offers 27 fewer horses, no modern electronic aids (no IMU, no riding modes, basic two-channel ABS), and an MT-07-derived chassis (less sharp than a pure sport frame). The RS 660 (119,900 MAD) wins on power, full APRC electronics, dedicated aluminium chassis, Brembo M4.32 brakes, and Italian racing prestige. Verdict: R7 if your budget caps at 90k MAD and you prioritise simplicity + dense Premium Motors network (6 dealers); RS 660 if you want the best middleweight tech on the market and accept the Italian premium + more restricted network (3 Piaggio Maroc dealers).
What's the annual servicing cost of an RS 660 at Piaggio Maroc?
Budget around 2,200-2,800 MAD for a standard annual service (oil + filter + general inspection) at Piaggio Maroc Casablanca or Rabat, excluding wear parts. The major service with valve-clearance check is scheduled every 20,000 km and costs 4,500-5,500 MAD. The timing belt is to be watched from 30,000 km (~1,800 MAD part + labour). These rates are around 20-30% higher than an equivalent Honda CBR650R at Optorg — the Italian premium is paid on aftersales. Aprilia manufacturer warranty: 2 years / unlimited km, extension possible to 3 or 4 years via Piaggio Maroc.
