Our methodology for Chery
For every Chery model, we start from the official new price published by the Moroccan importer, then apply a depreciation curve calibrated against the European and Moroccan markets — 80% at 1 year, 70% at 2 years, 62% at 3 years, down to 22% at 10 years. The result is then adjusted by declared mileage (progressive penalty per 10,000 km band).
We show the median (price expected on a standard-condition vehicle) and the p25–p75 range: p25 = what a buyer would pay on a high-mileage or average-condition vehicle, p75 = what we see on first-owner vehicles with a complete service history. You get an honest range, not a single number you could overpay or undersell on.
Chery on the Moroccan used-car market
Chery Automobile (Wuhu, Anhui, China, 1997) is China's largest fully-Chinese automaker (above SAIC in purely domestic capital terms) and China's #1 automotive exporter since 2003. In Morocco, Chery arrived in late 2023 and has seen its sales triple in 2024-2026 — distributed by Univers Motors / Chery Maroc through 8 main dealerships (Casablanca Aïn Sebaâ, Casablanca Sidi Maârouf, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, Fes, Oujda). Chery operates two brands in Morocco: Chery (main Tiggo lineup) and Omoda (young, urban sub-brand, distinct lineup). The 2026 MA lineup spans five models: Tiggo 4 Pro (B-SUV, most accessible), Tiggo 7 Pro Max (family C-SUV), Tiggo 8 Pro Max (7-seat D-SUV), Omoda 5 (sporty B-SUV crossover Omoda sub-brand), and Tiggo 9 (premium D-SUV, Q3 2026 launch). Chery positions itself in Morocco on three pillars: aggressive prices (15-20% below the European equivalent), very generous standard equipment (dual 12.3" screens, level-2 ADAS, heated/ventilated seats from entry trim), 8-year / 200,000 km warranty standard (longest in the MA market across all brands). Main weakness: 5+ year resale unknown (brand too recent in Morocco).
