A Hybrid That Amplifies, Not Softens

Where most rechargeable hybrid SUVs force compromises, the Cupra Terramar PHEV takes the opposite approach. The Spanish brand's answer to this growing segment refuses to dilute its sportiness—instead, electrification intensifies the driving experience.

Behind the wheel, the change in character is immediate. Each acceleration feels sharp and direct, every corner commands a responsive bite. The powertrain doesn't calm the dynamics; it heightens them with instant throttle response and lively road grip that feels almost intuitive.

Aggressive Styling, Driver-Focused Cabin

The Terramar wears its sporting intent visibly. Taut lines and a compact silhouette dominate its profile, reinforced by 19-inch wheels and a dominant grille. At the rear, a backlit Cupra logo extends this sporty identity.

Inside, everything converges on the driver's position. A 12.9-inch central screen works alongside a 10.25-inch digital cockpit to manage all vehicle parameters. Sport seats, three-zone climate control, and a configurable driving mode selector complete the experience. It's built for engagement, not passive transport.

Two Power Options, Same Philosophy

Entry 204 hp version: Delivers progressive acceleration and smooth hybrid transitions. The 25.8 kWh battery enables over 120 km of 100% electric driving—outpacing most competitors, which average 90 km.

Upper 272 hp version: With 440 Nm of torque, responses become sharper and gear changes more direct. The 0–100 km/h sprint of 7.3 seconds confirms the assertive intent.

In both cases, recharging discipline is essential. The advertised 0.4–0.5 L/100 km fuel consumption depends on regular charging; without it, consumption rises meaningfully.

Handling That Surprises

The Terramar drives more like a dynamic sedan than a typical compact SUV. The front end tracks with precision, steering responds with immediacy, and as pace increases, body roll stays controlled. Suspension filters road imperfections while maintaining composure—the balance between comfort and handling is assured.

In urban settings, electric mode suffices, running silently and cutting consumption. On peripheral roads, the combustion engine engages without disruption. The car adapts to your driving style, not the reverse—though it does demand the discipline of regular charging to deliver on its promises.

Pricing in Morocco

The Cupra Terramar starts at 465,900 MAD (Ocean trim) and reaches 523,900 MAD (VZ trim). Yes, the Spanish athlete commands a premium. But it achieves rare coherence between sportiness, comfort, and versatility—a stance more brands claim but few deliver.
