Our verdict

The Yamaha MT-07 has been the world's best-selling sport roadster since 2014. The 2026 version (RM33 generation, 2025 facelift) gets the new electronics suite: 5" TFT dash, Yamaha Y-AMT connectivity compatible with the smartphone app, and — on the top Trick trim — Y-AMT automated gearbox alongside the manual clutch lever.

The 689cc CP2 twin remains the programme's heart: 73.4 hp at 8,750 rpm, 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The crossplane crank's character produces a distinctive deep sound and a mid-range punch that wins universal praise — the MT-07 is typically described as "the bike that teaches you to ride sport". Ultra-light tubular steel frame (184 kg dry), adjustable KYB suspension, Brembo ABS as standard.

At 99,900 MAD, the MT-07 takes on the Honda CB650R (~109,000 MAD), Triumph Trident 660 (~129,000 MAD), and Suzuki SV650 (~89,000 MAD). Its proposition stays unbeatable: it's the most accessible all-rounder in the 600-700cc segment in Morocco, with running costs in the lower-mid of the market. A2-compatible with the 35 kW (47.5 hp) restriction kit — a crucial point for new riders.

Median and indicative range by year and mileage. Open methodology, refreshed continuously.

How we calculate

The most accurate used-car estimator in Morocco. Our prices are calibrated on the real Moroccan market: official dealer prices, resale ranges observed on the leading second-hand platforms, brand-by-brand resilience (Toyota, Renault and Dacia hold their value better; German premium drops faster after year 4; Chinese newcomers depreciate faster), a progressive mileage penalty and segment-level variance. Methodology continuously updated.

Frequently asked

What licence for the Yamaha MT-07 in Morocco?
Full A licence for the unrestricted version (73 hp). A2 licence (35 kW / 47.5 hp limit) with the homologated restrictor kit available at Premium Motors — expect 1,500-2,000 MAD for fitment. The A2 licence is the most common entry path in Morocco for riders aged 18-24.
What's the real-world consumption of the MT-07 in Morocco?
WLTP rated 4.3 L/100 km. In mixed Moroccan use (half Casa city, half road), expect 5.0-5.5 L/100 km in relaxed riding, up to 6.5-7 L/100 km in sporty motorway use.
MT-07 or Honda CB650R — which to choose in Morocco?
The MT-07 (99,900 MAD, 73 hp, twin) is more versatile urban/road and 10,000 MAD cheaper. The CB650R (109,000 MAD, 95 hp, four-cylinder) offers a more melodic four-cylinder sound and more punch above 7,000 rpm, but burns +20% and costs more in maintenance (4 spark plugs, bigger gearbox). MT-07 = versatility; CB650R = sport character and sound.
Does the A2 restriction degrade the MT-07's performance?
The 47.5 hp restriction (vs 73 hp) cuts peak power from 6,000 rpm onwards but preserves the bulk of mid-range torque (where you ride 90% of the time). In urban and peri-urban use, the difference is imperceptible. The restriction is fully reversible: when you upgrade to A licence (2 years after A2), your dealer un-restricts in 30 minutes for ~500 MAD.
